The U.S. Apple Association (USApple) has promoted Lynsee Gibbons to vice president of communications, a move that it says recognizes her leadership in elevating its communications, strengthening the association’s advocacy efforts and expanding its visibility among policymakers, media and the broader apple industry.
“Lynsee is one of those people who makes everyone around her better,” says Jim Bair, president and CEO of USApple. “She approaches every challenge with creativity, professionalism and a genuine care for our members and our mission. In this time of so much information — at times too much — with Lynsee’s touch USApple’s communications shine through, and that makes us more effective.”
Gibbons leads communications focused on major USApple policy priorities including agricultural labor reform, the farm bill, trade and other specialty crop issues. She also spearheads USApple’s digital content strategy and expanded the use of data visualization, short-form video and storytelling to better connect policymakers with the issues facing the apple industry.
USApple says Gibbons has also overseen the growth of its NextGen Fellowship program, helping cultivate the next generation of apple industry leaders. Additionally, she has strengthened the profile of signature USApple events, including Outlook and Capitol Hill Day.
Gibbons joined USApple in May 2023 as director of communications. She has nearly 15 years of experience helping organizations build visibility and influence through media relations, digital communications and public affairs initiatives.
Prior to USApple, she served as manager of corporate marketing and communications for Golden Key Group, where she established and led the company’s in-house communications function. Before that, she spent nine years at the National Fisheries Institute, the nation’s largest commercial seafood trade association, where she helped transform the organization’s digital and multimedia capabilities.
Gibbons has a Bachelor of Arts in corporate communications from James Madison University’s School of Media Arts and Design.
“I’ve had the privilege of getting to know apple growers from across the country, and they are some of the most thoughtful, hardworking and innovative people I’ve ever met,” Gibbons says. “I’m proud to help tell their stories and ensure their voices are heard by the people making decisions that affect their future.”
