BrightFarms, Irvington, N.Y., has hired Steve Platt as CEO.

Company founder Paul Lightfoot will continue as president of BrightFarms, and both will be members of its board of directors, according to a news release.

Platt most recently was CEO of Icelandic Provisions, maker of Skyr yogurt. He has been an executive at Danone, leading brands including Dannon, Oikos, Danimals and YoCrunch, according to the release.

“As founder, I’ve taken BrightFarms from an idea to the leader in next-generation indoor produce,” said Lightfoot. “Steve is a world-class CPG executive with an authentic passion for our mission and our products, and possesses the talent, experience and know-how to take the company to the next level.”

BrightFarms grows herbs and lettuces in hydroponic greenhouses, selling to local customers.
