A Produce Outlook Roundtable Luncheon will kick off the United Fresh Produce Association’s 2019 Convention & Expo.

The event, June 10-12 in Chicago, starts with the panel discussion, moderated by United Fresh President and CEO Tom Stenzel.

Joining him on the panel are:

  • Paul Lightfoot, CEO of BrightFarms;
  • Mary Thompson, CEO of Bonduelle Fresh Americas/Ready Pac Foods;
  • James Rogers, CEO of Apeel Sciences;
  • Jose Antonio Gomez, CEO of Camposol Fresh USA Inc.;
  • Melissa Melshenker Ackerman, president of Produce Alliance; and
  • Rich Gonzales, vice president of Global Produce Sourcing for Walmart Stores Inc.

“There is no one better to highlight the disruptors and innovations that are driving our industry into the future than those business leaders living it every day,” Stenzel said in a news release.

Stenzel said each panelist brings a unique leadership perspective to the industry, from innovative production techniques, breakthrough technologies and global business strategies. He urged members of the industry to send United Fresh questions for the panel. Send questions to Amanda Griffin, United Fresh senior director of education and member programs, at agriffin@unitedfresh.org.

Greg Corrigan, senior director of produce and floral for Raley’s Family of Fine Stores and United Fresh chairman, said the roundtable is one of the new events added to the convention schedule.

“From new B2B one-on-one matchmaking sessions, to new networking events bringing potential business partners together, to opportunities to connect with colleagues who share mutual interests, United Fresh 2019 will offer unprecedented value to our industry,” Corrigan said in the release.
