As computers replace clipboards in the logistics process, Rite-Hite Digital Systems has introduced a software system designed to keep distribution centers running smoothly, from loading dock logistics to trailer management.

Dok-Vu allows employees to update and track inventory in real time, according to a news release from Rite-Hite, Milwaukee, Wis.

“Many of our customers struggle to keep everyone on the same page in the yard, the office and at the docks, which holds back productivity,” Tim Kubly, business development manager, said in the release. “But fundamental change in communication processes can also be challenging.”

Dok-Vu is intuitive and easy to implement, Kubly said in the release.

The software, according to the release, eases communication by:

  • Allowing logistics functions to be tracked, showing the status of all docks and trailers;
  • Giving carriers text alerts on unloading status; and
  • Allowing managers to monitor dwell time and keeping docks fully used.

Dok-Vu’s dashboard allows managers to review trends and data to identify improvements in the process, according to the release.
