FiveStar Gourmet recalls snacks with eggs

FiveStar Gourmet Foods, Ontario, Calif., has recalled two snack products because they contain hard-boiled eggs from a company involved in a listeria outbreak.

FiveStar Gourmet Foods, Ontario, Calif., has recalled two snack products because they contain hard-boiled eggs from a company involved in a listeria outbreak.

The MiniMeals2Go Protein Pack and Avocado Toast snacks were sent to Meijer stores in in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, according to a notice posted on the Food and Drug Administration’s recall website.

The hard-boiled eggs in the two products were from Almark Foods, which recalled all products from its Gainesville, Ga., facility after they were linked to a Listeria monocytogenes outbreak involved seven cases and one death. No FiveStar products have been linked to illness in the outbreak.

The recalled Fivestar Gourmet Foods products are:

  • MiniMeals2Go Protein Pack, 8.25-ounce snacks with stock-keeping units of FG10461, Universal Product Codes of 8-50012-79311-3, lot numbers of 34619, 34719, 35019, 35119, 35219 and 35719, with best by dates of Dec. 26, 27, 30, 31, Jan. 1 and Jan. 6; and
  • Avocado Toast, and 6.75-ounce snacks with SKUs of FG10463 and UPCs of 8-50012-79315-1, with the same lot numbers and best by dates.
