Greenbelt Greenhouse Ltd., Lynden, Ontario, has recalled 19 of its microgreen products in Canada due to possible Listeria contamination.

The recalled products were distributed in Alberta and British Columbia. There are no illnesses linked to the products, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The company issued the recall April 24, and the CFIA posted information on its website.

The CFIA is investigating the detection of Listeria monocytogenes, which may lead to a recall of other products, according the agency’s notice. The notice does not say where in the supply chain the listeria was detected.

According to the company’s website, Greenbelt Microgreens are available at numerous Canadian retail outlets, including dozens of Sobeys stores. In the U.S., they are available mostly through New York state retailers, according to Greenbelt’s website, but only products in Alberta and British Colombia are involved in the recall.

The recalled microgreens, which are available in clamshells at retail, include:

  • Arugula microgreens
  • Broccoli microgreens
  • Fresh Microgreen Mix
  • Sweet & Crunchy Microgreen Mix
  • Spicy Microgreen Mix
  • Sunflower Microgreens

The products come in a variety of pack sizes and “best before” dates. For specific Universal Product Codes, see the CFIA’s recall notice.
