Kegel’s Produce, Lancaster, Pa., has received the Safe Quality Food certification from SAI Global.

The produce wholesaler’s certification is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative after the certification process, which included presenting a proposal, conducting a pre-assessment, and undergoing an on-site inspection, according to a news release.

The company will have annual audits to maintain the SQF certification.

“With the addition of our SQF certification, we are taking every measurable step to protect our customers from any harmful biological and physical factors,” Kenneth Myers, CEO of Kegel’s Produce, said in the release.
