Nebraska firm awarded federal fresh produce supply contract

Cash-Wa Distributing Co. of Kearney, Kearney, Neb., has been awarded a maximum $47.3 million federal contract to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to schools and reservations.

Cash-Wa Distributing Co. of Kearney, Kearney, Neb., has been awarded a maximum $47.3 million federal contract to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to schools and reservations.

The award from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support was a competitive acquisition with two responses received, according to a news release.

The five-year contract has no option periods, with locations of performance in South Dakota, and North Dakota, with a Sept. 22, 2029, ordering period end date. The release said customers are North Dakota and South Dakota schools and reservations.
