The International Fresh Produce Association brought the joy of fresh to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll and celebrated this cherished American tradition with thousands of fresh carrots and vibrant spring flowers.

A beloved event since 1878, the Easter Egg Roll is hosted by the president and first lady on the White House South Lawn. This year, more than 40,000 children and their families were expected to attend the day filled with fun, creativity and springtime celebration, according to a news release.

“IFPA is pleased to share the joy of fresh produce and florals at this iconic event,” said Cathy Burns, IFPA CEO. “The Easter Egg Roll is a wonderful opportunity to introduce families to fresh, healthy snacks and beautiful florals that reflect the vibrancy of the season. Featuring fresh produce at our nation’s capital underscores its vital role in healthy living — an essential part of our mission to remove barriers to nutritious food for all.”

As part of the festivities, IFPA and its members offered interactive, hands-on experiences for families, including planting carrot seeds, designing custom bouquets at the IFPA “Bloom Bar” and enjoying nutritious snack-sized bags of baby carrots.

In the release, IFPA recognizes the following member companies for their support:

  • Carrots were generously donated by Grimmway Produce Group.
  • Floral blooms were graciously donated by Sunshine Bouquet, Passion Growers, Gems, The Elite Flower, The Queen’s Bouquet Network, Continental Floral Greens, Dos Gringos - A Flower Company, Mellano & Company, Sun Vista Farms and beautiful floral sleeves were donated by Decowraps.
  • Providing seamless supply chain and logistics expertise to make it all possible were Armellini Logistics and Keany Produce & Gourmet.

The IFPA’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to promoting healthy eating, celebrating American-grown produce and connecting families to the benefits of fresh fruits, vegetables and florals, the release said.
