Gabriel Avalos joins Awe Sum Organics as its new general manager

The industry veteran has joined Awe Sum Organics after eight years as Bouduelle Fresh Americas’ vice president of agricultural operations and sourcing.

Awe Sum Organics, an organic produce importer and marketer based in Santa Cruz, Calif., is welcoming Gabriel Avalos to lead its team as general manager, according to a news release.

“We are really excited to have Gabe join and lead our Awe Sum Team! Gabe is an exceptional fit for us as we continue to grow and evolve,” David Posner, president, CEO and founder of Awe Sum Organics, said in the release. “The timing is perfect, as Gabe’s many years of experience and strong performance in management for successful fresh produce companies will be a huge asset as we continue to move into the future, focused on our ongoing goal of meeting the needs of our customers and growers.”

With more than two decades of experience under his belt, Avalos brings with him industry expertise and a strong performance track record in agricultural operations that includes demand and supply forecasting, sales and operational planning, harvesting and grower management, strategic planning, supply chain and international and domestic sourcing markets, and managing high-performing teams, according to the release.

“I am excited to join David and the rest of the Awe Sum Organics team. I admire the commitment and passion the Awe Sum Team strive for in the organic category. I look forward in supporting the team in continuing to provide great service and quality while not compromising our mission statement,” Avalos said in the release.

In Avalos’ last role, he served for eight years as vice president of agriculture operations and sourcing for Bonduelle Fresh Americas, formerly Ready Pac Foods. Prior to Bonduelle Fresh Americas, he held key positions at Driscoll’s and River Ranch Fresh Foods.
