In honor of Memorial Day, transportation and logistics provider Genpro teamed with Military Missions to write personalized cards of encouragement to U.S. troops.

“Those who serve our country deserve gratitude from everyone they keep safe and whose freedom they protect,” said the Rutherford, N.J.-based company specializing in cold storage food logistics.

Military Missions sends thousands of cards each year in its care packages for U.S. troops. Card donations are received from people living across the U.S. in all 50 states. “From ages 2 to 102, thankful Americans are making cards and writing notes of encouragement for our troops,” the Lexington, Ky.-based organization said.

Each Military Missions’ care package includes between 10 and 15 personalized cards and letters. “Your messages are the most important part of the package,” said the organization.

To put the organization’s letter-writing campaign into perspective, if it sends out 8,000 care packages in a year, 80,000 cards are needed.

Military Missions invites everyone to participate as well as to recruit friends and family to make cards and write letters.
