Loffredo Produce awarded federal fresh produce supply contract

Des Moines, Iowa-based Loffredo Produce has been awarded a $126.5 million contract to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to USDA-supplied schools.

Des Moines, Iowa-based Loffredo Produce has been awarded a $126.5 million contract to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to USDA-supplied schools.

The contract was competitive, with two responses received, according to a news release.

The contract, with Defense Logistics Agency, is a four-year six-month contract with no option periods, the release said, with an ordering period end date of Sept. 1, 2027. The contract was awarded in mid-March.

Using customers are Department of Agriculture schools in the state of Iowa, the release said.
