Produce firms awarded supply contracts

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support awarded two multimillion-dollar supply contracts to food and produce distributors in early December.

Coastal Pacific Food Distributors Inc., Stockton, Calif., received a one-year maximum $250.1 million contract for full-line food distribution, according to a news release.

The one-year bridge contract has no option periods. Locations of performance are Japan, Singapore, the Philippines and the Diego Garcia area of responsibility, with an ordering period end date of Dec. 2, 2024, the release said.

Forestwood Farm Inc., Birmingham, Ala., also was awarded a maximum $184.6 million fixed-price contract to supply fresh fruits and vegetables.

The five-year contract, through the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, was a competitive acquisition with four total responses received, with an ordering period end date of Dec. 1, 2028. USDA schools are the using customers, the release said.
