Virginia produce distributor awarded federal contract

Hampton Roads Produce Distributors Inc., Virginia Beach, Va., has been awarded a maximum $15.1 million contract to provide cross-docking and transportation for the East Coast Export Mission.

Hampton Roads Produce Distributors Inc., Virginia Beach, Va., has been awarded a maximum $15.1 million contract to provide cross-docking and transportation for the East Coast Export Mission.

The contract, with the Defense Logistics Agency, consists of shipping fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen meats, baked goods and dairy products, according to a news release. The five-year contract has no option periods, with the ordering period end date of Jan. 18, 2028.
