Patrick McTavish, retired Keystone Fruit exec, dies

Patrick McTavish, who worked in sales and executive positions at eastern fruit companies, has died.

Patrick McTavish, who worked in sales and executive positions at eastern fruit companies, has died.

McTavish, of Southport N.C., died Jan. 7. He was 71.

He retired from Keystone Fruit Marketing, Greencastle, Pa., in 2013, which he joined in 1989 as a produce broker, according to his obituary. He was director of operations at Keystone Fruit when he retired.

McTavish, who graduated from the University of Kansas in a journalism degree, started in the industry as a writer for The Packer, which “defined his career path,” according to the obituary.

He was sales manager, and then general manager for Consolidated Orchard Co., Paw Paw, W.V., where he worked for 16 years before moving to Keystone Fruit.

He also served in the Army National Guard for six years, according to the obituary.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca, daughter Heather McTavish Doucet and sons Brandon and Devon McTavish.

A funeral mass is Jan. 17 at Sacred Heart Church, Winchester, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (https://www.facebook.com/donate/1774923465992098/) or Sacred Heart Academy, 110 Keating Drive, Winchester, VA, 22601.
