NEPC, Organic Produce Network team up for conference

The New England Produce Council and the Organic Produce Network is sponsoring an organic produce conference.

The New England Organic Produce Conference is May 1 at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, Mass. The organizations will present the educational event, which features Shannon Allen as the keynote speaker.

Allen, creator of Grown, a 100% certified fast food restaurant with the motto “Real food, cooked slow, for fast people.”

The concept focuses on farm-to-fork cuisine with the convenience of fast good dining, according to a news release. The restaurant now how five locations.

The conference will also feature a report on organic from Nielsen, and a retailer roundtable.

The program was developed in a partnership with Burlington, Mass.-based New England Produce Council Inc. and California based Organic Produce Network.
