Fresh Avenue, which has facilities in Salinas, Calif., and Yuma, Ariz., is launching in-season fresh consolidation services at those locations, which serve as Fresh Avenue’s western base of operations.

“We heard from our customers that they were facing challenges with numerous less-than-truckload orders coming from various suppliers in multiple growing regions,” Brian Rooney, director of supply chain and operations for Fresh Avenue, said in a news release. “Adding consolidation to complement our delivered produce and customized procurement solutions just makes sense to further enhance the value we provide our customers.”

By consolidating loads for companies, the company meets end-user demands for fresher produce and addresses some challenges faced by regulations in the transportation industry, according to the release.

Fresh Avenue provides warehousing, logistics and marketing services for foodservice operators, regional and national restaurant chains and product distributors.

“Consolidation expands Fresh Avenue’s capabilities to our customers and strengthens our relationships with our valued growers and producers,” Mark Vaughan, managing partner of Fresh Avenue, said in the release.

The company plans to exhibit at booth No. 805 at the Produce Marketing Association’s Foodservice Conference and Expo July 26-27 in Monterey, Calif. For more information, visit https://freshavenue.com/pma-foodservice/.
