Welcome to The Packer Produce Price Index powered by Datasembly. Driven by retail pricing data collected on a weekly basis from thousands of online sources, the Produce Price Index is currently comprised of pricing data from all store locations at Fred Meyer, Fry’s, The Giant Co., Giant Food Stores, H-E-B, Kroger, Ralphs and Walmart.

Datasembly’s proprietary technology platform gives users access to hyperlocal pricing, promotions and assortment insight. Data is able to be sorted and prices analyzed by minimum, maximum, mean (average) and mode (most common). In addition to tracking and understanding produce pricing trends in grocery, the Produce Price Index offers produce suppliers the opportunity to gain competitive insight, improve revenue management and collaborate with retail customers using shareable data. It will also provide deeper transparency and in easy to use format. Here is one example of how we will start bringing this data to life.

Through the Produce Price Index’s intuitive and comprehensive platform, users can, for example, track the price of avocados, apples tomatoes and onions at every Walmart in a particular region and then compare those prices to Kroger stores in the same region.

With access to the Produce Price Index, users can leverage produce market pricing insights to gain the information needed to make strategic business decisions more quickly, smartly and efficiently.
