Produce price inflation coming to a Walmart near you

Prices on gala apples, navel oranges and hass avocadoes have all climbed over the last 6 months.

Prices on Gala apples, navel oranges and hass avocados have all climbed over the last six months. The Packer used pricing data platform Datasembly to research pricing tracked at over 4,000 Walmart stores across the U.S.

Gala apples rose steadily from Dec. 5, 2021, to March 20, 2022.

  • Dec. 5, 2021: $1.42 each – lowest price point in the last six months
  • March 20, 2022: $1.59 each – most recent price point

For seven consecutive weeks, navel oranges held the same price point since Feb. 6, 2022.

  • Jan. 2, 2022: 69 cents each – lowest price point in the last six months
  • March 20, 2022: 83 cents each – most recent price point

Hass avocadoes had a sharp rise in price from Feb. 13, 2021, to March 20, 2022.

  • Dec. 26, 2021: 80 cents each – lowest price point in the last six months
  • March 20, 2022: $1.09 each – most recent price point
