The Reusable Packaging Association has published the “Retail and the ‘How’ of Reusable Transport Packaging” white paper.

The document shares critical elements to help retailers and their suppliers further understand and accelerate the use of reusable transport packaging assets, according to a news release.

The 90-page report was written by Reusable Packaging Association member companies that collaborated as part of the association’s “Retail and Ecommerce Workstream,” the release said. The Retail and Ecommerce Workstream brings together member company representatives for the purpose of enabling industry dialogue and activities on common and pre-competitive topics for the advancement of reusable packaging opportunities in retail supply chains, the association said.

Reusable packaging systems play a critical role in reducing the environmental impact of delivering goods to consumers, offering users a longer, useful life of their packaging and a truly circular model, recycling the packaging at the end of its lifespan, according to the release.

RPA member companies are industry leaders in the reusable transport packaging industry and have vast knowledge and experience in helping retailers implement re-use systems into their operations and supply chains across the globe, the release said.

“Retailers and their supply chains may differ, but there are numerous examples where reusable assets are successfully implemented with local and global retailers and ecommerce leaders,” Todd Hoff, Reusable Packaging Association’s executive vice president of member programs, said in the release. “It is important to share these best practices across the retail industry so other retailers can further accelerate the use of reusable assets.”

The “Retail and the ‘How’ of Reusable Transport Packaging” white paper is available for download on the Reusable Packaging Association’s website.
