Lipman Family Farms is hosting its fourth 5K Run for Backpacks.

The April 21 event adds a 1-mile walk to the 5K and Junior Fun Run, according to a news release.

The event raises money to buy more than 1,500 backpacks, which are filled with schools supplies and distributed to students in the Immokalee, Fla., area in August at the Lipman Family Farms Backpack Giveaway.

“This community event encourages healthy lifestyles and gets families outdoors participating in a fun, healthy activity,” Community Relations Director Jaime Weisinger said in the release.

The event raises more than $25,000 each year and is growing.

Pre-event registration is at lipmanfamilyfarms.com.

To ask about sponsorships, contact Weisinger at 239-657-4421 or Jaime.weisinger@lipmanproduce.com.
