Village Fresh LLC has appointed Krysten DeGiglio as chief revenue officer, which comes at a pivotal time for the flagship portfolio company of Verdexa Holdings, a diversified food and ag-tech platform focused on fresh food, sustainable farming practices and innovative agricultural technologies.

In this newly created leadership position, DeGiglio will oversee commercial strategy with a focus on accelerating revenue growth, expanding strategic partnerships and developing new growth initiatives.

“Krysten has built an outstanding reputation in our industry, earning the trust of customers and colleagues alike through her commitment to service and excellence,” says Charlie Sweat, executive chairman and CEO of Verdexa Holdings. “With over a decade at Village Fresh, she brings a combination of industry knowledge, customer-centric thinking and a proven track record of performance. We’re excited to welcome her to this vital role as we continue expanding our platform of premier brands within the fresh produce category.

“Given Krysten’s background and passion for the business, we’re equally excited about her continued growth as a leader at Village Fresh, and more broadly within the produce industry,” Sweat continues. “We have ambitious aspirations for our organization over our strategic plan horizon, and we’re confident Krysten’s vision will be instrumental in advancing our commercial initiatives, while future-proofing our position in the marketplace.”

DeGiglio says she’s proud to take on the role during an exciting period of growth and transformation for Village Fresh.

“I’m honored by the opportunity to build upon the foundation and legacy we’ve created over the past 37 years in produce: a dedicated team with an unwavering commitment to quality, service, execution and doing what’s right for our customers,” she says. “The Verdexa platform enables us to continue leveraging our strong entrepreneurial culture while enhancing our capabilities, expanding our product offerings, accessing supply from additional owned assets and unlocking new opportunities for long-term value. I look forward to working with new and existing partners as we continue scaling our business for sustainable growth and shared success.”

DeGiglio earned both a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA from Fairfield University. She began her career with Ernst & Young and later worked with Daiichi Sankyo before joining Village Farms in 2015. Over the past 11 years, she has served in roles of increasing responsibility across the organization, most recently serving as director of regional corporate sales. During her tenure, she has played an integral role in expanding the company’s business with key customer accounts and successfully executed numerous sales initiatives that have contributed significantly to the company’s growth across North America.
