Homestead, Fla.-based Brooks Tropicals LLC has added two new members to its sales office, says Peter Leifermann, vice president of sales and marketing.

Rosa Maldonado has joined Brooks as a salesperson after assorted roles at Five Brothers Produce, he said. “We’re excited to have someone with extensive produce-business experience join our team,” Leifermann said. “She’s new to tropicals, but not to our business.”

In addition, Erika Medina has joined Brooks as the new director of sales and procurement after eight years as the operations manager and chief financial officer of USA Truck Brokers.

“Erika’s unique perspective is valuable, and she’s always wanted to get into the produce business,” Medina said. “Her addition to the team adds yet another layer of service and detail that we offer our customers and growers.”
