Choptank Transport promotes Josh Bergling to VP of technology

Josh Bergling has been promoted to vice president of technology at Choptank Transport, Preston, Md.

Josh Bergling has been promoted to vice president of technology at Choptank Transport, Preston, Md.

Bergling, who joined Choptank in 2013, was most recently director of business intelligence at the third-party logistics provider, according to a news release.

He will oversee the IT department and business intelligence team at Choptank. He has been working on a new customer portal for shippers, Orbit TI (transportation intelligence), to provide full visibility into each shipment and market intelligence, according to the release. The new platform debuts this month.

“As our business and industry evolve, so does the need for robust technology solutions,” Geoff Turner, president and CEO, said in the release. “ … Josh has proven to be a tremendous asset in this capacity and I am confident in his ability to manage all aspects of Choptank’s IT roadmap.”
