Christopher Valadez to serve on Calif. ag. board

Christopher Valadez, the new president of the Grower-Shipper Association of Central California, Salinas, has been appointed to the California State Board of Food and Agriculture’s board of directors.

Christopher Valadez, the new president of the Grower-Shipper Association of Central California, Salinas, has been appointed to the California State Board of Food and Agriculture’s board of directors.

Valadez starts at the grower-shipper association in mid-May.

Valadez was director of environmental, governmental and regulatory affairs at the California Fresh Fruit Association from 2008-19 and deputy district director Congressman George Radanovich from 2004-08.

The group is an advisory board to the governor and state agriculture department, and addresses issues that are of importance to California’s farmers and ranchers, according to a news release.
