Clay Jones joins Onions 52 in sales, business development

Onions 52, Syracuse, Utah, has hired Clay Jones to its sales and business development team.

Onions 52, Syracuse, Utah, has hired Clay Jones to its sales and business development team.

Jones, who will be based in San Antonio, most recently was the vegetable category manager for Food Lion, Salisbury, N.C., where he implemented category strategy, innovation and vendor partnerships that resulted in record results, according to a news release.

He started his career at H.E. Butt Grocery Co., San Antonio, moving from buyer to business development manager in produce during his eight years there.

“With Clay’s extensive industry knowledge and experience, he will be a great asset to the Onions 52 team,” Shawn Hartley, vice president of sales, said in the release.

Jones said his background in retail procurement will be as asset to Onions 52 customers.
