The Eastern Produce Council celebrated its 53rd annual gala with a different format.

The John J. McAleavey Annual Gala April 6 at the Westmount Country Club, Woodland Park, N.J., featured casino games instead of a formal sit-down dinner. The ballroom was transformed into a casino, complete with black jack, craps and roulette tables, according to a news release.

More than 280 people were welcomed by EPC Executive Director Susan McAleavey Sarlund and Marianne Santo, senior category manager at Wakefern and president of the Eastern Produce Council.

The event also recognizes the EPC’s contributions to multiple charities throughout the year.
