IFG, the world’s leading fruit-breeding company renowned for inventing the Cotton Candy™ and Sweet Globe™ grapes, is pleased to announce it has expanded its Commercial Team with the addition of Dr. Elena Aguaron in the newly created position of Regional Commercial Manager, Americas (Table Grapes).

Dr. Aguaron joined IFG in July and is responsible for licensee support, experience, business growth, and development, specifically in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

Dr. Aguaron brings to IFG extensive experience in the North American agricultural and commercial sectors of table grapes. She also has multidisciplinary domestic and international experience across business areas, including R&D, technical knowledge at the field level, operations, commercial development, and U.S. retail and consumer preferences.

Originally from Spain where she completed her engineering degree in agronomy, Dr. Arguaron moved to California in 2006 and has since become knowledgeable in a multitude of crops in the U.S. and Mexico — table grapes being her favorite. She holds a PhD from University of California Davis in horticulture and agronomy and has worked with grapes in semi-tropical, temperate and desert environments.

The addition of Dr. Aguaron to the IFG team comes as the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2021 and is breaking ground on a new $12 million, 150-acre, research and development facility that includes 25,000 square feet of greenhouses, and 28,000 square feet of laboratory and support buildings.
