Industry veteran returns to Fresh Del Monte in leadership role

Fresh Del Monte Produce has named Danny Dumas as senior vice president of sales, marketing and product management for North America.

The company said Dumas, who has more than 35 years of industry expertise and leadership, will help drive its continued growth and innovation in North America, which is one of its largest and most competitive markets.

Dumas will oversee North American sales, marketing, product management, technical services and quality assurance for port operations for the vertically integrated producer, marketer and distributor of fresh and fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, according to a news release.

His career includes senior leadership roles, including serving as senior vice president at Calavo Growers. During a previous stint at Fresh Del Monte, Dumas led major business initiatives across North America and Europe. The company said he gained a deep understanding of its operations and market dynamics during that time.

Fresh Del Monte said Dumas’ other accomplishments include launching a new business venture and overhauling a private company’s administrative operations to enhance efficiency. He also served as chair of United Fresh and helped drive the merger with the Produce Marketing Association, leading to the formation of the International Fresh Produce Association.
