J&J Family of Farms, Westlake, Fla., has promoted Clayton Amestoy to director of farming.

He will be responsible for directing farming operations, managing farm food safety programs, and communications with J&J’s sales and commodity management staffs, according to a news release.

Amestoy is a fourth-generation farmer, with more than 15 years of leadership roles. He grew up on a family farm in Boynton Beach, Fla. He has been district farm manager at Pero Family Farms and farm manager at R&A Farms Inc., Boynton Beach.

He joined J&J in 2016 as senior farm manager.

He reports to Dick Bowman, vice president of farming and grower development.

“He has deserved this promotion as he takes on a larger leadership role as we continue increasing our acreage and developing best-in-class grower partners,” Bowman said in the release.
