Organically Grown Co., a Portland, Ore.-based wholesaler and marketer of certified organic produce, has named Brenna Davis as its new CEO. Davis will step into her new role on Feb. 28.

“OGC’s board and mission team are confident that Brenna is the right person to build on our momentum,” Carla Balen, OGC’s head of people, said in a news release. “She is deeply committed to organic agriculture and climate leadership and brings significant experience working in the natural foods channel and with companies focused on economic, social and environmental responsibility.”

Most recently serving as vice president of social and environmental responsibility and communications at PCC Community Markets in Seattle, Davis has more than 20 years of leadership experience in multiple Northwest business sectors, including roles at Virginia Mason Health System and Puget Sound Energy. Davis is also a certified coach with Human Potential Institute, a life coaching organization, and has a proven track record of developing diverse and high-performing teams, according to the release.

“I am honored to be joining an organization with a strong focus on caring for people and the planet,” Davis said in the release. “I have long admired OGC’s trust-owned business model, as well as their decades-long dedication to organic food systems and the well-being of organic farmers.”

Davis succeeds Elizabeth Nardi, who became CEO of Organically Grown Co. in October 2016.

Organically Grown Co. sources, aggregates and distributes fresh, organically grown produce to retailers, restaurants and eaters across the Pacific Northwest. The company includes its wholly owned subsidiary Alternative Ownership Advisors, an advisory group launched in early 2020 to help mission-driven businesses pursue steward owner and finance models.
