Sara Neagu-Reed joins IFPA public policy team

The International Fresh Produce Association’s new director of production and environmental policy has experience in advocacy and government affairs along with a Department of Labor and USDA public service background.

Sarah Neagu-Reed will be joining the International Fresh Produce Association‘s government relations team as the director of production and environmental policy starting July 10, according to a news release.

Neagu-Reed will lead policy issues related to production practices and the environment, which includes organics, floral, indoor and controlled environment agriculture, the release said.

She comes to IFPA from AmericanHort, where she served as director of advocacy and government affairs. In this role, Neagu-Reed handled a policy portfolio that included pest and diseases, immigration reform, crop protection, CEA and farm bill programs, according to the release.

Neagu-Reed also advocated for grower interests in her previous role with California Farm Bureau. Her background also includes public service at the Department of Labor and the USDA, where she served a senior legislative analyst for the USDA’s organic and biotech programs, the release said.

A California native and first-generation Romanian American, Neagu-Reed is a graduate of the University of San Francisco.
