Dole Food Co. has promoted Timothy Escamilla to president of Dole Fresh Vegetables.

He has more than 25 years of experience in senior-level management roles at Dole and other companies, according to a news release.

Escamilla succeeds Michael Solomon, who is leaving the company. Solomon joined Dole Fresh Vegetables in 2018, and was instrumental in “retooling the operational foundation and performance of the division,” according to the release.

Escamilla is in his second stint at the company, first in 2014-15 as vice president of operations for Dole Berry Co. and then senior vice president of agricultural operations. He rejoined Dole Fresh Vegetables 2 ½ years ago as senior vice president. In between, he was vice president of operations and then chief operations officer at Tanimura & Antle.

He has also had executive roles at Ready Pac Foods.

Escamilla, who grew up in California’s Salinas Valley, said he was humbled when Dole Food CEO Johan Linden offered him the position.

“I believe Dole Fresh Vegetables is positioned for phenomenal growth, and leveraging the strength of the Dole brand to remain the premier provider of value-added fresh foods will continue to be our goal,” he said in the release.
