Two Northeast U.S. produce suppliers win federal contracts

Native Maine Operations Inc., Westbrook, Maine, and Hartford Provision Co., South Windsor, Conn., have each been awarded five-year federal contracts to provide fresh fruits and vegetables.

Native Maine Operations Inc., Westbrook, Maine, and Hartford Provision Co., South Windsor, Conn., have each been awarded five-year contracts to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to Northeast military troops and schools in Maine, according to a news release.

The contracts, with no option periods, have an end date of Oct. 23, 2027.

Native Maine Operations Inc. was awarded a contract worth $31.8 million, while the Hartford Provision Co. was awarded a contract of $15.9 million, according to the release.

The firms will supply military troops in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island and Massachusetts and schools in Maine, the release said.

The contracting activity is the Philadelphia-based Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support.
