The USDA says it has appointed 11 members to the National Potato Promotion Board, with terms beginning March 1, 2025.
Nine producer members and one public member will serve three-year terms ending Feb. 28, 2028, and one producer appointee will serve a two-year term ending Feb. 28, 2027, according to a news release.
The National Potato Promotion Board has 82 members, including 79 producer members, two importer members and one public member. Members can serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.
The board promotes the benefits of potatoes to audiences across the globe, including consumers, foodservice operators, retailers and health professionals.
Newly appointed producer members include:
- Thomas Baker, Bakersfield, Calif.
- Andrew J. Price, Center, Colo.
- Beth Rachut, St. Ansgar, Iowa (two-year term)
- Diane Szawlowski Mullins, Hatfield, Mass.
- Alison Sklarczyk, Johannesburg, Mich.
- Pete Ewing, Big Lake, Minn.
- Ben De Jonge, Manhattan, Mont.
- Nathan Bender, Dyer, Nev.
- Matthew Linehan, Guildhall, Vt.
- Jennifer Bunger, Pasco, Wash.
The newly appointed public member is Norbert Bomm, Chicago.
