Weis Markets names VP of fresh merchandising

Formerly the director of meat merchandising, Doug Becker will now oversee multiple company departments, including produce.

Weis Markets has promoted Doug Becker, director of meat merchandising, to vice president of fresh merchandising.

Becker has more than 40 years of store-level and merchandising management experience, according to a news release. In addition to meat, he now oversees the company’s produce, deli/foodservice, bakery, seafood and floral departments, the company said. He reports to Bob Gleeson, senior vice president of merchandising and marketing.

Founded in 1912, Weis Markets Inc. is a mid-Atlantic food retailer operating 198 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia and Virginia.
