Monterey Mushrooms grows, harvests, packages and delivers conventional and organic fresh mushrooms and mushroom products every day of the year, says Lindsey Occhipinti, marketing manager.

Occhipinti said Monterey Mushrooms also offers a full line of high-vitamin D mushrooms.

“We are excited to launch a new website in January 2024 with an improved user experience that includes a mega menu for a more visual approach to browsing our website,” she said.

In addition, Monterey Mushrooms in early 2024 will be making a significant change to enhance the recyclability of its packaging by incorporating near-infrared detectible material in its black rPET tills.

“Our black rPET tills are made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials, reducing plastic waste in landfills and contributing to a circular economy,” Occhipinti said.

Monterey Mushrooms has built a legacy as a mushroom grower, she said.

“Our purpose is to Enhance People’s Lives, and that starts at each Monterey Mushrooms farm with our vertically integrated affiliates and owned logistics fleet,” Occhipinti said.

Founded in 1971, Monterey Mushrooms became a family-owned business when the company was purchased by Shah Kazemi, who began as an employee himself.

“Along the way, we introduced pre-packaged mushrooms for retailers, began growing USDA-certified organic mushrooms, developed sustainable packaging, and more,” Occhipinti said. “We’ve led innovation in the mushroom category for decades.”
