A shorter crop of apples in Washington has led to declines in exports at the start of the 2022-23 season.

USDA trade statistics show that the value of U.S. apple exports to all destinations in October 2022 was $55.2 million, down 26% from October a year ago.

The value of U.S. apple exports from November 2021 through October 2022 was $870.1 million, down 6% from the same period last year.

By destination country, October 2022 U.S. apple exports, compared with a year ago:

  • Mexico: $13.9 million, down 27%
  • Canada: $12.8 million, up 16%
  • Vietnam: $5.8 million, down 47%
  • Dominican Republic: $2 million, down 82%
  • Honduras: $1.8 million, up 37%
  • Indonesia: $1.5 million, down 37%
  • Thailand: $1.3 million, down 7%
