A state audit of the Florida Department of Citrus gives the group’s contract procurement and management process a clean bill of health.

The report, from the State of Florida Auditor General, covers May 2017 to February of this year, including nine contracts and 17 purchase orders totaling $10.1 million, according to a news release from the department of citrus. Marketing, market research, advertising and scientific research are included in those services.

Every three years, audits evaluate the department management’s performance in establishing and maintaining controls, including those to prevent and detect fraud and waste, according to the release.

“I am proud of the work the FDOC staff does and their commitment to being good stewards of the budget,” Ned Hancock, chairman of the Florida Citrus Commission, which oversees the Florida Department of Citrus, said in the release.
