A video update from Yakima, Wash.-based Superfresh Growers discusses the company’s transition to high-density apple orchard systems for efficiency and safety.

In the video that touches on water reservoirs and Cascadian snowpack, Dave Gleason, horticulturist and proprietary variety developer for Superfresh Growers, emphasizes the importance of water management in the arid region, highlighting the need to monitor river flows and reservoir levels, according to a news release.

Gleason addresses water management, focusing on water scarcity looming as a significant concern, the release said.

In conjunction with the Bureau of Reclamation, Superfresh Growers is focused on environmental stewardship while also balancing the need to sustain crops, Gleason says in the update.

Gleason also underscored the importance of monitoring river flows, reservoir levels, and snowpack data to sustain crops amid unpredictable weather patterns. Walking in an apple orchard in the February video, Gleason encouraged viewers to cherish the resilience and diversity of the natural world, finding solace and inspiration amid its ever-changing wonders.
