Wonderful Pistachios No Shells Chili Roasted and Honey Roasted flavors have again gained recognition as a new snack product.

IRI, a Chicago-based research firm, named the pistachio snacks “Rising Stars” in its annual New Produce Pacesetters Report, which notes the biggest consumer packaged goods launches based on sales.

The “Rising Star” status singled the two flavors’ exceptional first-year sales success, according to a news release from Wonderful Pistachios, Los Angeles. They are the only snack nut and healthy salty snack on this year’s list, according to the release.

“Wonderful Pistachios No Shells Chili Roasted and Honey Roasted give consumers no-barrier access to a healthy snack, and when combined with some of the fun, engaging flavors, takes snacking nuts to a higher level,” Larry Levin, IRI executive vice president of Market and Shopper Intelligence and Thought Leadership, said in the release. “ … Achieving Rising Star status as part of this year’s New Product Pacesetter tally puts the launch as one of the ten-most anticipated New Product Pacesetters for next year’s review.”

No Shells Chili Roasted and Honey Roasted received the 2020 Snacknation Insight Award for Best Nut/Trail Mix, and Amazon reported Honey Roasted took the No. 1 and Chili Roasted the No. 2 spots for Hot New Releases for Snack Nuts and Seeds.

“We are pleased that Wonderful Pistachios No Shells Chili Roasted and Honey Roasted have been so well-received by consumers,” Adam Cooper, senior vice president of marketing of The Wonderful Co., said in the release. “We are constantly seeking new ways to deliver high-quality snacks for those looking for healthy and flavorful options and look forward to continuing this momentum.”

Since their introduction, the two flavors drove 94% of the company’s flavored snack nut growth, and more than 30% growth for the No Shells line, according to the release.
