Naturally seedless lemons from The Wonderful Co. are appearing in produce departments nationwide.
The company plans a marketing blitz that includes in-store displays, point-of-sale materials, and digital and influencer marketing to introduce the branded fruit, and create a bigger marketplace for bagged lemons, according to a news release.
They’ll be in limited supply through May in the U.S. and Canada this first season and available in one- and two-pound bags.
Wonderful Seedless Lemons are also available online at Amazon Fresh.
“Consumers who love lemons will have fun discovering this one-of-a-kind variety that is easily identified in stores with an eye-catching branded logo and packaging, as well as colorful in-store displays,” Adam Cooper, senior vice president of marketing at The Wonderful Co., Los Angeles, said in the release.
According to third-party research commissioned by the company, 83% of lemon buyers said they’re likely to buy a seedless lemon.
The variety was developed in Australia by a grower through years of breeding, according to the release.
