Chelan, Wash.-based Chelan Fresh Marketing is entering its first full season with new cherry packaging, said Tim Evans, general sales manager.

“We rolled out some new packaging about mid-season last year, and it really does a lot for the cherry category in really calling out cherries,” he said.

“A lot of bags, they tend to look like red grapes, and this really calls the cherry out, whether red or yellow.”

The pouch bag offers a “different color combination that really pops in the produce department,” Evans said. The bag is designed for 2-2¼ pounds of red cherries and 1¼-1½ pounds of rainiers, Evans said.
