Concord Foods, whose produce companion foods are often displayed in the fresh produce department, has a new chocolate dip snack under the Simply Concord brand.

The company has seen a 400% sales increase in the past year, according to a news release, which helps bolster produce department sales, especially of berries.

The snack packs drive companion sales by tapping into portable snacking trends, according to the release.

“Shopper interest in healthier snack options continues to grow and we’re thrilled to introduce this new chocolate dip snack pack as an ideal companion to fruit for school, work, and convenient snacking,” Samantha McCaul, marketing manager at Concord Foods, said in the release.

The company has plans for increased cross promotions with strawberries during spring events, including Easter and Mother’s Day, according to the release.

The chocolate dip snack packs come in packs of six, with 12 units in a case.

Concord Foods will have the chocolate snack pack and other products on display at the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure expo floor March 9 in Orlando, Fla., at booth No. 810.
