Dole’s ‘Captain Marvel’ campaign honors teachers

As “Captain Marvel” arrives in movie theaters March 8, Dole is celebrating off-screen female “superheroes” as well with its Powering the Hero Within campaign.

As “Captain Marvel” arrives in movie theaters March 8, Dole is celebrating off-screen female “superheroes” as well with its Powering the Hero Within campaign.

In the movie, Carol Danvers defends the earth through her alter ego, Captain Marvel. Dole’s Captain Marvel-themed campaign starts by honoring school teachers who have helped created healthful classrooms:

  • Christel Driscoll, science teacher at Lincoln Middle School, Portland, Maine;
  • Hope Waller, school nurse at Kensington Health Sciences Academy, Philadelphia; and
  • Emily Quinn, third-grade teacher at Evergreen Elementary School, Richmond, Va.

“Christel, Hope and Emily are great examples of everyday heroes who take action to make a huge impact in the world,” Bil Goldfield, director of corporate communications for Dole, said in the release. “As a brand that is rooted in health and nutrition, Dole is using its alliance with Captain Marvel to celebrate women everywhere who are using their ‘superpowers’ to build a healthier and more equitable planet.”

Dole’s 10-week Powering the Hero Within campaign includes blogger and influencer partnerships, special recipes and original content from Dole registered dietitians to address female health and wellness needs, according to the release.

Dole bananas and pineapples will have stickers and hang tags, respectively, featuring Captain Marvel characters in the U.S. and Canada through May 5.
