Fresh Express recalled Southwest Chopped salad for allergens

Fresh Express has recalled Southwest Chopped Salads Kits from 11 states because of allergens that are not identified on list of ingredients.

Fresh Express has recalled Southwest Chopped Salad Kits from 11 states because of allergens that are not identified on list of ingredients.

The salad company’s recall notice was published on the Food and Drug Administration’s recall site on June 19. During a single production run, incorrect condiment packages were included in the bags. Wheat, soy, cashews and coconut, which are food allergens, were not listed on the ingredients.

The 11.5-ounce kits have production codes of G163B10A and G163B10B, a Universal Product Code of 0 71279 30602 5 and a use-by date of June 29, according to the notice.

No illnesses or reactions from the mislabeled salads have been reported.

The recalled salad kits were shipped June 12-18 to retailers in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
