Retail produce managers take note: the Idaho Potato Commission’s 2019 retail display contest wants to send you away. To Hawaii.

The annual contest’s grand prize sweepstakes drawing is a trip for two to Hawaii, just of the awards the commission is offering for entering the competition. In all, the 28th annual retail display contest is giving out more than $150,000 in cash and prizes, according to a news release.

Anyone who enters will also receive a Toastmaster Air Fryer.

“Creativity — not size — is the key to making a show-stopping display,” Jamie Bowen, commission marketing manager, said in the release. “Every year we get tons of great entries that are small but mighty, and they highlight Idaho potatoes in a way that customers really respond to. These smaller displays can help increase potato sales just as much as the larger, more elaborate displays.”

The contest runs from Jan. 14 to March 15, and displays for entry into the contest must include Hormel Bacon Toppings.

“Bacon and Idaho potatoes are a naturally great-tasting combo,” Hormel Bacon Toppings brand manager Corrine Hjelmen said in the release. “The many creative displays in the contest every year are a perfect way to showcase this dynamic duo for shoppers and boost sales.”
