Santos International marks 50 years of service

The McAllen, Texas-based logistics company is highlighting its service, innovation and advocacy and will mark the milestone by hosting events throughout the year.

McAllen, Texas-based logistics company Santos International is commemorating its 50th anniversary.

For five decades, Santos International has been a partner to a variety of fresh produce companies, according to a news release. The company highlighted how it successfully advocating for the return of significant amounts of federal duties incorrectly imposed on the importation of Mexican cantaloupes and limes, which is said demonstrated its commitment to clients.

“Personalization, innovation, and creativity are the cornerstones of our company,” Mark Santos, partner at Santos International, said in the release. “When you work with us, you engage directly with the principals of the company. Our hands-on, service-focused team ensures timely release, fast problem resolution and seamless logistical operations.”

Founded in 1973 by Jimmy Santos, who served as the original broker, the company later welcomed Thelma Santos as its second licensed broker. The company said it underwent further development with the return of Jimmy and Thelma’s Santos’ sons, Edward, Carlos and Mark. With a sense for continuous innovation, adaptation and implementation, the sons ensured the company weathered the challenges of the dynamic global trade landscape and thrived the customs brokerage sector, according to the release.

Santos International said it has a deep understanding of customer needs and communication when dealing with customs regulations, classifications, tariff issues, valuations and free trade agreements.

“We are not just customs brokers; we are partners in your success,” Jimmy Santos said. “Our years of experience uniquely position us to ensure your cargo moves across borders efficiently, timely and safely.”

To celebrate this milestone, Santos International will be hosting events throughout the year and expressing gratitude to clients, partners and employees who have played an integral role in the company’s success, the release said.
