Virginia firm wins defense produce supply contract

Norfolk, Va.-based Military Produce Group LLC, has been awarded a 24-month contract with the Defense Commissary Agency to supply fresh produce to commissaries in the Eastern U.S.

Norfolk, Va.-based Military Produce Group LLC, has been awarded a 24-month contract with the Defense Commissary Agency to supply fresh produce to commissaries in the Eastern U.S.

The contract award is $146.06 million for the base year, according to a news release, and the contract is for a 24-month base period from Feb. 11 through Feb. 7, 2021.

The contract includes three one-year option periods. If all three option periods are exercised, the contract will be completed Feb. 4, 2024, according to the release.
