Vote now for America’s No. 1 farmers market

Do you know which farmers market is no. 1 in America? American Farmland Trust and the Farmers Market Coalition hope to answer during the annual 2022 America’s Farmers Market Celebration.

For 14 years, American Farmland Trust and the Farmer’s Market Coalition have hosted America’s Farmers Market Celebration. This year, the organizations are giving away $10,000 in prizes to the top-voted farmers markets.

The deadline for voting is Sept. 19, according to the American Farmland Trust website.

“We believe that every farmers market in America is special in its own way,” the site said. “Big or small, in cities or rural towns, farmers markets nourish their communities while helping local farmers, food makers and artisans thrive.”

The $10,000 will be divided between the top five winners, as noted below:

  • $5,000 for first;
  • $2,500 for second;
  • $1,500 for third;
  • $750 for fourth; and
  • $250 for fifth.

These funds will be awarded to markets to go toward marketing, communications and other needs that help expand the market’s reach and impact, according to the website.
